Slider updates...

Sliders at the top!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have added some new sliders to the website for the Photography, Portfolio, Articles, and the Home page of the website. I went through my collection of panoramas that I created over the years and added them into the sliders. I am liking a few of the articles in the website to the home page and the other key sections of the website. This will provide a more user friendly experience for the visitors to this site, and I can show off some of the photos I have taken over the years.

The new Version...

The new version of my site is online now, I have completed enough work on this site to put the site online. The process of porting the site to the new version of Joomla, I had to find new plugins for the existing ones. Joomla 1.5 was around for quite a long time and did not get upgraded for many years, as a result many of the plugins did not get updated or the developer has gone out of business.

Blog Version 3

I have rolled out the new version of my blog and portfolio, instead of 2 separate sites that are linked together, I have completed the migration of the portfolio into Joomla. I have also migrated the data and template from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5, the process of updating and redesigning the blog is almost complete. I have updated the template and replaced most of the plugins with new tools or updated the existing modules to more up to date tools.

Joomla 1.6+: New website template and joomla 1.7

This weblog has been updated to Joomla 1.7, once the migration is complete and the template is built we will go to Joomla 2.5 when all of the plugins have been updated.I have recoded the template and updated the CSS for the template in this website, at first I did not realize that there would be this much work. But we are approaching the finish line for the completion of this project.

Website Maintenance

I have finished changing out the article HTML engine, gone is the old table based engine in Joomla, now the website will build articles in Tableless CSS and Div tags. What I did not realize is how much work is involved in fixing the problem,  I had to do a lot of CSS trouble shooting and re-edits to the CSS style sheet.

Now that the work is done, I feel like I have remodeled a home, the next time I do something like this, I will definitely plan ahead, I have to rebuild the portfolio section and move it over to Joomla. I guess you learn something new every day.
